WHAT IS ART & SOUP?The Celebration of Art & Soup is Salt Lake City’s world class fundraising event for Community Nursing Services Home Health and Hospice. This unique two-day event shares some of Utah’s finest artists and their creative artwork with soup sampling and desserts from the best restaurants. The admission, art exhibit, auction and sale support CNS’s charitable care program.

This two-day event will host 22 local restaurants and the beautiful artwork of 32 participating artists. The generosity and support of many volunteers, restaurants and artists make this one of Salt Lake's premier events each year.

Volunteers receive this years' Art & Soup t-shirt and are able to sample the soups, bread and desserts.

Art & Soup 2012 Featured ArtistJOHN COLLINS was raised in Utah where he learned much about painting from his sister Chris and his father Gary, who are both artists. He received an art scholarship to attend the University of Utah where he studied fine art and design. John enjoys working in many different mediums (watercolor, oil and acrylic) and likes to paint a variety of subject matter in many different styles (traditional, contemporary and experimental). His active lifestyle and love of the outdoors is reflected in his pleine aire paintings. He can be found teaching watercolor classes on river trips along the Colorado. Artist Statement: "Art has a magical quality. It has energy and when it is experienced I feel like it creates a synergy with the viewer. I paint landscapes, abstracts and images that have meaning to me. It is always exciting to evoke sensations from people that view my work." |
